Ginevra Liptan is a
Tufts University School of Medicine and is board
certified in internal medicine. She is a former
associate professor at Oregon Health and Science
and founded the Frida Center for Fibromyalgia.
Her major research focus relates to the contribution
of fascia (the connective tissue around the muscles)
to pain in fibromyalgia, and she is the recipient of
a Gerlinger Foundation Research Award to compare
myofascial release and massage in the treatment of
Dr. Liptan is the author of Figuring
Out Fibromyalgia: Current Science and the Most
Effective Treatments; she has personal
experience with fibromyalgia, having been diagnosed
with the condition during medical school.
