Research Volunteers

This is an exciting time to be involved in fibromyalgia research, as the scientific understanding of FM is yielding to increasingly sophisticated research methodology. Furthermore many of the leading pharmaceutical firms have realized that FM is an unmet need and are developing innovative therapies for FM patients.

Many of these advances are due to the enthusiastic participation of FM patients in research studies over the last 30 years. This research is now starting to pay off in terms of newer medications and the increasing recognition of FM in both the medical and lay communities.

Researchers at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) have been involved in fibromyalgia research since 1980 and continue in this tradition. If you live in within easy traveling distance of Portland, we invite you to register as a potential research volunteer at: Oregon Fibromyalgia Research Team.

Registration does not commit you to participate in any if our studies. You will be contacted by email or telephone by a study coordinator as new studies become open for enrollment.

If you do not live near to Portland, we recommend checking the national database of registered studies at: Registered U.S. Research Studies.
